Had to give my opinion

First of all, I was disappointed that there was no resolution to the end of Series VIII, so we never saw how they got out of all of it, only that Rimmer died again and got bought back as a hologram; I was also sad that there was no Holly.

I personally thought this was the best "series" since series V, and I liked the fact that they got rid of the canned laughter. Best moments were:

-Lister telling Rimmer about Kryten vacationing in the broom cupboard
-Rimmer listening to music and not noticing the others being attacked
-The Dwarfers looking down the sofas for money
-The geeky guy in the comics shop
-The kids telling Lister about Kochanski
-Craig Charles playing himself
-Lister making Rimmer abuse himself

It was touching when Lister was hallucinating about Kochanski at the end, and the ending was satisfying; I would love it if they actually made the fictional Red Dwarf XI and X that the fans talked about in the hallcuination, too - but I guess it probably wouldn't happen.

Current Mood: satisfied

It's out on DVD (in the UK at least) in June. I know that's a while to wait, but I'm sure it'll be on a download site fairly soon.

I thought it was good. Better than series 7 and 8 anyway. They got a handle on the characters again. There were good in-jokes too (not sure if you're not up to date on UK tv if you'll get it though), and it was laugh out loud funny.

I liked it being back to just the guys. They work best like that.

Hope you non brits get to see it soon.

I got back from Camping to watch all 3 back to back...

I agree that it did miss something at the start to tie to end of series 8... but my moment was the Car with the 2 steering wheels
